THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

The Department of Commerce was established in the year 1998 as a main Department of the Degree College. The Department has two streams B. Com (Computers) and B. Com (Generals). The Department consists of 8 full time Faculty members. They are well qualified and are experts in their specialized area. The rich experience of the staff helps the students to excel academically and motivates them to pursue their career in the field of commerce.

The Faculty members continuously update themselves and enhance their knowledge by participating regularly in workshops, seminars and conferences. The Department continuously creates a proper study environment for teaching and learning process by implementing innovative and activity based methods.
 
Objectives
The following are the objectives of the Department:

 

• Keeping in view the needs of the society, the Department strives towards the right transformation of being an under graduate student to a responsible citizen.

• Academic Excellence.

• To facilitate through knowledge of subjects relating to commerce, trade, industry, economics, technology etc.

• Social responsibility

• To inculcate human and ethical values among the students to make them socially responsible.

• Personality development

• To develop the inner potentials and abilities of the student community by involving the students in subject related activities like mini projects, paper presentations, PPTs, group discussions, debates etc.

• To enhance organizational, leadership, and managerial skills by making them participate in training sessions and certificate courses.
